- Bitter plants (absinthe, wormwood, genepi, tarragon) - Aniseed with sweet flavours (anise, coriander, fennel, dill) - Balsamic plants (basil, rosemary, angelica) - Peppermint and verbena
Already consumed in Egypt in 1600 bc for its medicinal properties, the « Green Fairy » owed its success to artists and intellectuals of the 19th century before being unduly prohibited in 1915. The Liquoristerie de Provence, in 1999, was the first to relaunch Absinthe in France under the name of Versinthe.
