VERUS Weissburgunder Südtirol/Alto Adige DOC
» VERUS - The genuine « Authentic in taste, and in manifestation. Particularly appreciated for decades for its articulated personality.
This wine captivates with its bright yellow colour with green hues. It delights the nose with a complex interplay of fresh apple to mature tropical fruits. On the palate, it impresses with its elegant richness and density, elegance, sappiness and great length.
The vines of the Pinot Blanc grow at Montan and in the municipality of Renon at a height of 450-650 m. The cultivation takes place at guyot with about 7500 plants per hectare. The ground is mixed from gravelly clayey to morenic with porphyry deposits. The Grapes of the Pinot Grigio reach perfect ripeness for harvest in mid September to mid October. The grapes are carefully picked by hand and, with a plant density of 6,000 vines, achieve a yield of 50 hectolitres of wine per hectare. After a short maceration period of 2-4 hours, the selected Pinot Blanc grapes are gently pressed. The fermentation takes place in steel at a temperature of 17°C for about 12 days. The refining on fine yeasts lasts for another 7 months.
VERUS Weissburgunder goes extremely well as aperitif and starters and fish dishes in all variations.
