Altamarea s.r.l. - founded in Agrigento (Sicily) in 1996- is specialized in the production of smoked fish products – in particular swordfish, yellowfin tuna – and is always committed to the development and research of new products.

Chemistry, especially in recent decades, has taken the upper hand in favor of the business of large multinationals. 

Altamarea, a small drop in the Mediterranean,  try to  differentiate itself every day by proposing an artisanal production process to guarantee a final result of absolute “flavour”.

Smoking is an art and we do it cold just to give the products a high capacity for preservation without altering the organoleptic properties.

Our company produces exclusively according to the traditional method: dry salting and traditional cold smoking by hanging, without the use of any chemical product, in fact the only ingredients used are fish, salt, cane sugar and beech wood smoke.

In order to guarantee high-quality products, all processing phases, from supply of goods to delivery, are traced and undergo health controls and laboratory checks. 

Collaboration with packaging companies allows us to meet our customers’ need and partnership with logistic platforms guarantees fast and safe deliveries.

We also boast the following certifications: BRC, IFS, ISO 22000:2005, MSC and ASC.

All this has allowed us to consolidate private label commercial relationships with some of the major players in the italian large-scale distribution.
