The company began producing small quantities of salted and pickled anchovies in an artisan style, increasing their activity over time and establishing at the beginning of the Twentieth century the authentic “Appertizada” preserves. This was a noteworthy development in their production, reaching up to eleven factories along the Cantabrian and Atlantic shores, a need imposed due to the absence of cooling technology and in order to be close to the main fishing ports. Beginning in the 1960s, the arrival of new technologies allowed and required a reorganization of production, resulting in a reduction in the number of factories and, yet, a constant increase in production. Today It produces around 100 different products (White Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Sardines and Small Sardines, Anchovies, Mackerel, Octopus, Squid, Mussels, Queen Scallops, etc. including also some ready to eat Spanish traditional dishes), following the most demanding quality controls, supported with certifications such as the ISO-9001and prepared with the best raw materials and natural condiments, achieving the highest quality products, authentically selective and valued by the wide range of consumers that know and recognize Albo quality.
