Founded by Sir Malcolm Walker in 2000 in the UK, As Nature Intended is an organic retailer that focuses on food and non-food items.

A firm believer that food should be consumed as it is, Sir Malcolm Walker launched As Nature Intended with the aim of offering a wide variety of natural and organic products.

At present, As Nature Intended provides over 3000 references. Over 65% of the grocery products are 100% organic. 

As Nature Intended manages 6 shops as well as an online store. 

Customers visiting As Nature Intended also benefit from expertise advice concerning nutrition, herbal medicine, skincare and aromatherapy from the employees. Furthermore, As Nature Intended also organises classes and workshops.

As Nature Intended provides a variety of products in the following categories:

As Nature Intended only provides organic and natural products. The list of forbidden ingredients include herbicides, artificial fertilisers, sweeteners, flavours, GMO, hydrogenated fats. Concerning cosmetics, products should be free of parabens, toxins and artificial fillers. 

As Nature Intended is certified by Fairtrade and the Organic trade Board.

Concerning the packaging, As Nature Intended does its best to reduce packaging. Thus, it has a bulk section and opts for products that use minimal packaging. Furthermore, the company’s goal is to be totally plastic-free in 2020. Thus, it has started to offer alternatives to plastic bags such as cotton and jute bags.
