Auzier home was established in 1923 by Leon Auzier. At that time, there were five confectioners in Montpellier who made all of licorice, gumdrops, marshmallows and candy. They were the last successors of a corporation from the Middle Ages where the candy was next to the pharmacy, in a city where Jacques Coeur had introduced the products of the East.
In Montpellier, in the days of Rabelais, the apothecaries were multiplying their inventions and students offered sweets to celebrate their thesis. Today Auzier CHABERNAC continues the tradition of Montpellier with its know-how and traditional recipes of vanilla paste, paste of liquorice, liquorice with honey, marshmallow and of course, dragees.
