Banketfabriek Jac. Vegter BV was founded in 1874. Gerrit Vegter took over an existing bread, biscuit and pastry factory near the lock at Martenshoek in Hoogezand. The location has stayed the same ever since, but the company has developed enormously. Traditionally, the company always passed on from father to son. From Gerrit to Jacobus to Gerrit to Jacobus to Gerrit. Today the fifth generation rules the company. Over the years the family has specialized in the manufacturing of very thin, crispy waffles. The waffles are baked in the traditional way, between irons. This guarantees the properties of the waffles to the maximum. Thin, crispy and low in calories.
