Bergbanket

Bergbanket started as a family-run company to produce sweet pretzels during the nineteen-sixties. An old family recipe was the basis for the original hand-made sweet pretzels. They supplied bakery shops and small wholesalers in the neighbourhood. The unique flavour and quality ensured a rapid increase of demand. Rolling and sugaring the dough was automated at the beginning of the seventies so that the supply could meet the high demand of the product. The shaping of the pretzels was still done by hand. This labour-intensive way of producing sweet pretzels was automated at the end of the eighties by a machine which took care of the entire folding process. Nowadays the production is almost completely automated on the condition that the unique traditional character and quality remains intact. Traditional Dutch rusks and crackers have also been added to the assortment, as well as organic versions of these Dutch rusks and crackers.
