Bia Spa was created in the summer of 2004 as a new company when it acquired the couscous production and marketing business line from Pastificio Bacchini Snc, the first company in Italy to put this product on the market.
Bia Spa is the exclusive owner of Cous Cous BIA, Bacchini, Bacchini 1922 and Biovita brands and is the sole distributor of the Marchesi brand Cous Cous.
After buying the business line from Pastificio Bacchini in July 2005, Bia Spa moved to a new factory in Argenta (FE), renewing the production system as well as the packaging lines. Thanks to new plants, after a few months, the production capacity has tripled.
Basing its policy on continuous improvement, today BIA has become the Italian leader in standard and organic couscous production .
The thirty years experience of its workers, the modern and up to date technology, the complete automation of the factory and a careful choice of raw materials result in a high quality and safe couscous.
All the production and packaging processes are automatic which enables the company to achieve maximum efficiency and flexibility.
This is further guaranteed by the maximum levels of the international certificates received: BRC, IFS,ISO 9001-2000. Moreover the entire production is certified Kosher.
