Bidfood Belgium

Bidfood Belgium is one of the leading foodservice wholesalers and distributors in Belgium, supplying food and non-food products to professional customers across Belgium and Luxembourg. Headquartered in Kruibeke, the company traces its roots to 1918, when the Mea Margarine Factory merged with the distributor SA Fermière du Hainaut. In 2005 the business was acquired by South Africa's Bidvest group through the takeover of Deli XL, and since 2017 it has operated under the Bidfood banner as part of Bidcorp (Bid Corporation Limited), one of the world's largest foodservice distribution groups.

Bidfood Belgium reports a turnover of €429.2 million and employs more than 600 people. It operates two main distribution centres — Kruibeke (an 8,400 m² site) serving Flanders and Thuin serving Wallonia — from which it provides regular one-stop-shopping deliveries throughout Belgian and Luxembourg territory. Customers include the full spectrum of the out-of-home market: independent horeca businesses (restaurants, cafés, hotels), fast-food and restaurant chains, contract caterers, hospitals and other institutions, as well as wholesalers. Notable clients have included Paul, Pizza Hut, Marriott, Sodexo and Compass Group. Orders can be placed through its Mybidfood online shop alongside traditional channels.

Bidfood distributes major A-brands such as Danone, Nestlé, Heinz, Callebaut, Lenor and Duni, complemented by private-label ranges including Smart Choice, and also offers organic lines. The company holds HACCP, IFS, MSC, ASC, FASFC and Lean & Green certifications.
