Birchall Tea is a fully independent family owned tea company with five generations in growing and trading tea dating back to 1872.  We are consistently ranked as one of the top 3 largest exporters of bulk tea from East Africa (Mombasa Kenya is the largest tea exporting centre in the world), shipping over 50 million kilos of tea globally every year and are therefore able to source the highest quality teas available. Our professional tea tasters in Mombasa Kenya taste +- 5000 batches every week from the whole of the East African region and less than 1% of these will be deemed good enough to be selected for our black tea blends. 

Every component of our tea products (teabags to packaging) is plant based and therefore either biodegradable, compostable or recyclable. We use the new plant based material Natureflex which is derived from woodpulp to replace any plastic packaging previously used. We also have FSC Certified cardboard for all the inner and outer cartons.
