Born Rose
About the company
In early 2019, a group of curious entrepreneurs launched BORN ROSÉ Barcelona, a special rosé, born in a special city with the aim of being a reflection and inspiration of a lifestyle. Barcelona is not just a place, it’s a state of mind.
Hoping to join the Rosé Revolution that has swept across the globe in recent years, from Provence to the US, from the UK to Scandinavia, BORN ROSÉ has its sights firmly set on Europe, aiming to become the Rosé brand that will spearhead the Rosé category to even greater heights .
BORN ROSÉ aims to simplify wine, stripping away all the unnecessary pomposity and ceremony, to allow modern consumers to simply uncork and enjoy. Tapping into the lifestyle aspects of Barcelona – the beach, the clubs, the parties, the rooftops, the tapas bars, the markets, the music, the culture – and encapsulating the overall vibe of the city – vibrant, Mediterranean, easy going, curious – is what Born Rosé does. Bringing consumers around the world a slice of Barcelona in a bottle is what BORN ROSÉ is all about.
The combination of stunning packaging, well considered branding and a genuine story centred around a fun-loving, Mediterranean lifestyle are all elements that will entice modern consumers towards Born Rosé and its growing portfolio.
About the Wine
BORN ROSÉ works with local vineyards and a team of oenologists in Penedés, Spain (an internationally-renowned wine-growing region about 30 miles outside of Barcelona) to produce organic, dry rosés. Similar to the terroir of Provence, France (a popular region for rosé winemaking), Penedés’ seaside climate is optimal for growing Grenache and Tempranillo (grapes native to Spain) and Pinot Noir. BORN ROSÉ’s wines are made with grapes grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizer, and they’re Organic & Quality Certified, as well as IFS Certified.
To achieve BORN ROSÉ’s signature pale pink rosé color with bluish hues (signifying a young, fresh wine), the wine is fermented at cooler-than-typical temperatures. Brut is made in the Charmat method, which refers to the wine’s second fermentation taking place in large steel tanks, resulting in lasting, elegant bubbles and a fresher sparkling wine than Champagne or Cava (which are aged in bottles).
Still and Brut pair beautifully with tapas, sushi, salads, light pasta dishes and more!
About the Hot Spots
Listed in some of Barcelona’s, Ibiza’s, Mallorca’s, New York's and Amsterdam’s hottest bars, beachclubs and restaurants, the strategy for the rest of Europe will likewise focus around top profile listings in the on-trade to build visibility and brand ambassadors amongst the trade. Co-branded events and promotions with other premium beverage brands will also be a key component to the strategy, particularly targeting the sundowner-aperitif moment in certain areas of the territory.
