Geal Bruges Pancakes

In 1984 a recipe was created that would hencefotrth he called Bruges pancakes. In that year Annie Alderweireldt established her one-person business in order to enable people to save time and effort and still enjoy traditional pancakes. In view of the growing success of this ready-made product her now deceased husband Bart Geldhof also entered the business. This resulted in the establishment of the private limited liability company "bvba Geal", which was soon forced to move to a larger site. The factory is nowadays located in the Blauwe Toren Industrial Estate and was built in accordance with all applicable regulations for the food industry. Annie Alderweireldt is still in charge of the company, which has in the mean time evolved into a family business; her two children Tom and Sara Geldhof also decided to join the company.
