Bunting is a retailer and wholesaler in Germany. The business was founded in 1806 by Johann Bunting. Initially a wholesaler of tea, Bunting operates in 3 areas:

• Holding Company
• Tea Shop
• Wholesaler

Bunting also operates an online shop offering a wide range of food and non-food items since 2012. 

In 2013 Bunting acquired the chain Minipreis supermarkets and in 2015, took over Jibi Handel and Coma Konsumermärkte.

Bunting also operates its own production facility.

There are over 9500 people employed by the firm.

Bunting offers products in the following categories through its online shop:

• Savory Grocery: canned food, sauces, oil, vinegar, etc.
• Sweet Grocery: tea, cookies, biscuits, chocolates, etc.
• Drinks: juice, water, beer, wine, etc.
• Chilled & Fresh Food: fruit, vegetable, charcuterie, etc.
• Frozen Food: ready-meals, meat, vegetables, etc.
• Personal Care: hair care, skincare, face care, etc.

Bunting also provides a range of nut-free, lactose-free, vegan, vegetarian and halal products. 

Some of the brands available include Cadbury, Thomy, Bonduelle, Barilla, Coca-Cola, Schweppes, etc.

The company also developed its own label Gunting which includes a range of quality tea.
