Cafes Henri
- It all began in 1949 at the heart of Europe, in the shadow of Strasbourg’s cathedral …
- Our family business, run by Mr Henri, came into being at 31 rue des Hallebardes.
- The shop is the birthplace of Cafés Henri, and continues to be our main sales outlet.
- 1963: roasting operations were moved to Oberhausbergen, to a facility better suited to the growing business.
- 1980: the company was taken over by the current Chairman, Mr Frédéric Steiner.
- Roasting was fully automated; today this means we can produce 750 kg of coffee per hour.
- The company has grown steadily, adapted to changes in the business environment by modernising its production plant and diversified its activity of roasting and selling coffee through different retailing networks:
- direct sales to hotels and the catering industry (2000 customers in the 7 eastern departments of France)
- retail sales with a chain of 10 shops and coffee rooms in Alsace
- sales to reselling wholesalers and restaurant chains (national and export markets)
