Dohle Group
Dohle Group was founded in 1960 in Germany, following the merger of 2 wholesale companies: Bergheim-Erftkreis owned by Maria Schröder and Königswinter-Quirrenbach owned by Kurt Dohle. The new company was founded after Maria and Kurt Dohle got married.
Dohle Group founded the supermarket chain HIT in 1972. Today, HIT comprises 102 supermarkets including 25 franchisees. HIT supermarkets offer fruits, vegetables, bread, bakery goods and drinks.
Dohle Group has been expanding the supermarket chain through acquisitions such as the takeover of 8 TOP hypermarkets in 1998.
Dohle Group had entered Poland in 1994 by opening a HIT store there. In 2004, all the HIT stores in Poland were sold to Tesco.
Since 2006, Dohle Group started to collaborate with REWE Group on purchasing and logistics. Dohle Group also sells products from REWE’s private labels in its stores and benefits from its warehouses.
In 2018, Dohle Group started to study the prospect of opening an online shop to expand HIT.
Dohle Group achieves an annual turnover of € 1.45 billion and employs 6100 people.
