Elvi Latvia

Elvi is a Latvian supermarket and convenience-store chain, headquartered in Riga and managed by SIA Elvi Latvija. Launched in 2000 and developed as a franchise organisation, it has grown into one of Latvia's notable domestic grocery banners, with a particular strength in regional communities outside the capital.

The chain comprises around 100 partner-operated stores located predominantly in regional and small-town Latvia, where it plays an important role in local grocery distribution. Elvi holds roughly a 5% share of the Latvian grocery market and positions itself as a convenient neighbourhood retailer close to its customers.

Elvi operates a franchise model in which the central company handles brand management, unified procurement, marketing support, IT systems and other assistance for its independent partner stores. This allows individual retailers to combine local ownership with the buying power and standards of a national network.

Its assortment covers the full everyday grocery range — food, drinks, dairy, fresh and chilled products, and household goods — and blends international brands with a strong offering of Latvian and regional products. Elvi maintains close relationships with small local producers, including regional suppliers who sell only within their own areas.

The management company reported a turnover of approximately €5.5 million in 2023, up around 5% year on year. With its regional footprint, local-producer focus and cooperative franchise structure, Elvi is an attractive partner for food, beverage and household manufacturers seeking distribution beyond Latvia's main urban centres.
