Etra Caffè is a dynamic Italian company specializing in single-serve coffee capsule systems. It combines solid experience and knowledge of coffee with advanced capsule technology and continuous research and development of materials to offer increasingly sustainable next-generation solutions.

Etra Caffè was founded on the strong experience of the Zappella family, from whom it inherited industry expertise, a drive for innovation, and the know-how that today leads the company to consistently pursue high coffee quality standards, together with excellent product performance.

The company is headquartered in Osio Sotto, Italy, where, in addition to offices and research laboratories, there is a state-of-the-art production facility.

For Etra, the coffee capsule represents the beating heart of its ecosystem. In addition to owning its own closed system, the Galileo System, the company offers various compatible capsule solutions, both in aluminum and in bagasse—a patented capsule made from sugarcane residues, suitable for home composting and therefore 100% sustainable.

The Galileo System includes 8-gram PLA capsules, a plant-based bioplastic, compatible with the Etra Lumina coffee machine, designed to reduce waste and optimize consumption.

Our idea of sustainability is a circle that closes: it begins from the earth and returns to the earth. This vision fuels our commitment to research and development. We carefully study each blend to capture its essence and protect it with technologies and materials that respect its origin. For this reason, we invest in compostable solutions such as bagasse, a natural fiber derived from sugarcane, and PLA, a bioplastic certified for industrial composting. It is our choice to leave a mark on taste, not on the planet. Also for packaging we invest in research and development to create low-impact materials, such as our compostable capsules made from PLA and bagasse, as well as recyclable packaging.
