In 2003, First Grade International, an importer specialising in sourcing coconut, cocoa, nuts and dried fruits mainly for manufacturers began its operations in the UK. Starting with just a team of 7 persons that marketed to producers, the company already benefited from the expertise from the 1970s to grow its business.
First Grade International’s main business is the importation of coconuts and coconut products from The Philippines, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Malaysia. Clients can find an array of coconut ingredients in one place with First Grade International.
In time, the firm started to diversify by adding nuts, dried fruits and cocoa to its product range. From importing just a few thousands tonnes of products during its first year of activity, First Grade International now imports more than 38000 tonnes of products.
Furthermore, First Grade International now owns one of the largest coconut plantations across the world, covering over 250000 acres, guaranteeing a stable supply to its clients. In fact, First Grade international is known as the largest stocker of coconuts in the UK.
First Grade International achieved a turnover of € 72.3 million in 2018, indicating a rise of 7.10% in its revenue compared to the previous year.

First Grade international has a quality department which ensures that products are of high quality and are also sourced in a sustainable and responsible manner.
First Grade International requires its suppliers to be certified by the same bodies. Furthermore, they must also be audited by Smeta Audit. Suppliers have to abide by the Modern Slavery Act (2015)
