Forever21 is a retailer that specialises in clothing, accessories, beauty products and home products. The company was founded in 1984 in Los Angeles, California by a Korean couple, Do Won Chang and Jin Sook Chang. The first shop was opened under the name Fashion 21. Forever 21 initially brought Korean fashion and targeted Korean-American customers.

Within a year, the firm achieved a turnover of €623000 and the founders started to launch new stores every 6 months. The name was eventually changed to Forever 21. 

In 1989 Forever21 opened its first store in a shopping mall and by 1997, the company had launched 40 shops. The firm also launched several clothing lines which include;

• XXI Forever

• Love21

• Heritage

Forever 21 attained a turnover of €4,31 billion in 2018. The company is recognised as the 5th biggest specialty retailer in the US and was also ranked as the 122th in the list of largest private companies of USA by Forbes magazine. 

Forever21 runs over 700 stores in America, Asia, the Middle East and the UK. While Forever 21 INC manages all its USA stores, the overseas stores are mostly franchised stores or are run in joint ventures. Furthermore, the company also manages its online store.

The business has partnered with various brands such as BOY London, All Good, Casio, Dope, ETA, Haute Rogue, Keds, Maybelline, Miss Truth, NYX, Nautica and many other brands.
