Fremantle Octopus Pty
Fremantle Octopus was established in the year 2000 and became the driving force in establishing the West Australian Managed Octopus Fishery. The Fremantle Octopus Group has since become the world's largest MSC certified fisher, processor, and distributor of a unique species of Octopus which is sustainably caught and found only in the pristine water of the Western Australian Coastline. The species was officially named in May 2021 with the scientific name Octopus Djinda and the common name of Western Rock Octopus.
The company operates across 3 distinct managed fishing zones of the WA Managed octopus Fishery, spread across 2,880 kilometres of coastline, stretching from Shark Bay to the Great Australian Bight.
Over the past few years the business has seen significant growth with demand for its raw, cooked and marinated octopus increasing both domestically and from export markets
