Founded in 2015, Getir is an online retailer based in Turkey and was founded by Nazım Salur, Serkan Borançılı and Tuncay Tütek. The company specialises in the fast distribution of groceries across 29 Turkish cities including Istanbul and Ankara, 7 UK cities, 1 Dutch city, 1 German city and Paris, France.

A mobile application is managed by Getir as well. It is one of the pioneers in the industry and remains an independent firm.

It is planning on expanding in the Netherlands, the USA and 4 additional locations in the UK.

Getir operates 3 sub-brands which are as follows:

• GetirFood: delivers food from restaurants to the client's doorstep.
• GetirMore: provides home deliveries for grocery items
• GetirWater: offers water from the firm’s private label, Kuzeyden

1500 references in the food and non-food categories are offered by Getir.

Getir acquired Spain's instant market app, BLOK, in 2021.

A total of €250 million was raised by Tiger Global Management and Sequoia Capital in a fundraising event held in March 2021. Funds of more than €390 million have been raised by Getir since its opening.

In 2019, Getir achieved a turnover of €101 million. Moreover, the firm was reported to have doubled its orders in the second half of the same year.

Moreover, Getir carries the “unicorn” title after being valued at more than €2 billion.

Getir provides a variety of products in the following categories:

• Savory Grocery: pasta, herbs, canned food, etc
• Sweet Grocery: biscuits, chocolate, tea, etc
• Drinks: soft drinks, water and many more
• Dairy: cheese, milk, eggs, etc
• Fresh & Chilled Food: fruits, charcuterie, vegetables, etc
• Frozen Food: ice cream, poultry, meat, etc
• Personal care: hair care, oral care, baby care, etc
• Household: detergents, toilet paper, washing liquids, etc

Brands such as Coca Cola, Magnum, Heinz, Selpak and many others, collaborate with Getir. The company imports its products from the USA, Belgium, France, etc.

Getir  partnered with Animal Rights Federation (HAYTAP) in Turkey to organise the “Feed A Friend” project every year. Till now, the firm has been able to donate 100 tons of pet food in shelters.
