GIB Pharma

GESUND IST BUNT (GIB), operated by parmapharm Marktförderungs GmbH & Co. KG, is a German pharmacy cooperation headquartered in Bielefeld. Founded in 1994 by 19 independent pharmacists, the network is wholly owned by its member pharmacist-shareholders and today unites several hundred independent pharmacies across Germany under the common 'GESUND IST BUNT' banner, adopted in 2003.

As a buying and marketing alliance rather than a single retail chain, GIB acts as the central purchasing and services partner for its affiliated pharmacies, the pharmaceutical industry and wholesalers. It negotiates framework agreements with major pharmaceutical wholesalers such as Alliance Healthcare, Gehe and Phoenix, helping member pharmacies concentrate procurement decisions and gain better purchasing conditions.

Through this cooperation model, GIB sources and promotes a broad range of personal care, health and pharmacy retail products for its members' shelves, including vitamins and dietary supplements, skincare and personal hygiene products, and over-the-counter medicines. Endorsed brands within its purchasing and marketing scope include Voltaren, Vigantolvit, GeloMyrtol and Nicorette, among others.

Beyond purchasing, GIB provides its member pharmacies with an exclusive private-label portfolio, marketing support, a shareholder hotline, digitalisation services and back-office/administrative assistance, aiming to strengthen the competitiveness and independence of its affiliated pharmacies in the German market. The network maintains ISO 9001 quality certification and continues to grow its industry partnerships and services portfolio, with recent purchasing initiatives focused on vitamins & supplements and skincare categories.

Corporate governance sits with parmapharm Marktförderungs GmbH & Co. KG, whose general partner is parmapharm Apotheken-Kooperations GmbH; the cooperation is registered in the Bielefeld commercial register.
