GOLDSTEIG Käsereien Bayerwald GmbH from Cham in the Bavarian Forest was founded in 1992.
Our promise of „Bavaria’s finest cheese“ is not an empty promise from us. GOLDSTEIG premium products are exclusively naturally produced cheese specialities with genuine guarantee of origin. We produce the milk for these fresh and process them gently in our own dairies. In this way, we ensure that all the milk‘s goodness is preserved.
The GOLDSTEIG „without genetic modification”- range, including besides Mozzarella Hard- and Semi-Hard Cheese (Emmentaler and Almdammer), Fresh Cheese (Mascarpone and Ricotta) and Butter, delivers an exceedingly natural flavour. „Without genetic modification“ means that our certified cooperative farmers meet all the statutory requirements. No genetically modified feed, no genetically modified plants. Ensuring that naturally grown species are preserved in the long-term and gently processed, natural products are made out of the milk.
GOLDSTEIG is currently one of the most important producers of Mozzarella in Germany. Thanks to constant expansion and investments in the latest technology, the company has also become an important producer of hard and semi-hard cheeses. Today, the product line-up ranges from mozzarella, emmental, semi-hard cheese, butter, ricotta and mascarpone. The cheese specialist supplies all countries within the EU.
The production is distributed over two plants. The main plant in Cham produces mozzarella and hard and semi-hard cheeses, which are then further processed into slices, cubes or grated cheese. The head office and logistics centre are also located here. The plant in Tittling produces butter, mascarpone and ricotta. The new plant is located in Stephansposching, which will produce in the first expansion phase (in 2018) concentrated skim milk.
The “GOLDSTEIG” name is synonymous with premium brand quality. For customers this not only means the supreme taste enjoyment they have become accustomed to, but also the excellent reliability offered by GOLDSTEIG products. Because quality assurance is our top priority, we introduced the HACCP system, a control system that is continuously improved and expanded, long before it was stipulated by legislation. With “BRC” and “IFS Higher Level” certification we also meet all the requirements of the highest and most important standards for ensuring product quality and safety in the food industry. GOLDSTEIG is certified in accordance with the EU Regulation on Organic Farming for the organic milk. In addition to this, the majority of all the organic farmers who supply the milk are members of a recognised organic farming association and are therefore subject to maximum standards for organic milk.
The sustainability of GOLDSTEIG is also proofed by the energy management system according to DIN EN ISO 50001 and the environmental management system according to DIN EN ISO 14001.
