In 1977 nine small family businesses merge and form the modern Distillery-Winery of Thrace. This association brings together the long tradition in distillation with the vision of development and the creative spirit of the younger partners.The newly formed company is located in a modern production facility in the Industrial Area of Komotini,in the Northeastern corner of Greece, producing mainly Ouzo. In the almost 50 years of its modern operation, the range of distilled products has expanded to Tsipouro (100% grape pomace distillate) and distilled dry Gin. While it also produces Greek Spirit Speciality and Vodka.

Through a steady growth path, Distillery Winery of Thrace is today the largest spirits producing company in Greece with annual production of more than 10 mio. bottles. Given that we produce products with protected Geographical Indication, it is particularly important to maintain a constantly high level of quality, strengthening our position in the choice of customers and the final consumer, which classifies the Thracian Ouzo 7 p.g.I. in second place in production and export volume.

With a history going back over 130 years, we have firmly embedded long-term thinking into our corporate culture. We consider ourselves,both now and in the future, to be a responsible employer and an integral part of society. As a manufacturing company, we bear responsibility for our products and their consumers and are therefore increasingly focused on a sustainably operating value chain and on offering products to be enjoyed responsibly. We use mostly packaging derived from recycled materials (cartons / glass) We use packaging with 100% recyclable material. Company is Registered at : E.M.A. (GR), NTUA (GR), L.U.C.I.D. (DE) related to the management of its waste, coming either from raw, packaging or from auxiliary materials. It applies a strict policy of Environment and circular economy and has a sustainability assessment by ECO VADIS
