Groupe Rocher
Formerly known as Yves Rocher Group, Groupe Rocher is a French retailer and distributor of beauty products which was launched in 1959 by Yves Rocher. The company started its operations by launching the brand Yves Rocher, a major brand of natural cosmetics which is now available in over 115 countries.
About 1800 stores are managed by Groupe Rocher and more than 5600 multi-brand points of sales are operated by the firm’s agents.
The company sells its products through mail order which now includes mail, phone and online orders as well as in its physical stores and through direct selling.
Groupe Rocher launched its first Yves Rocher store in 1969 and a year later, the firm ventured on the international market.
The business established its botanical garden in 1975.
In 1980, the group launched the brand Daniel Jouvance which offers beauty products made from Marine ingredients.
5 years later, the firm launched Dr. Pierre Ricaud, a brand of face care products which targets middle-aged people.
The business took over the company Petit Bateau in 1988. Petit Bateau is a clothing brand which offers 100% cotton products.
In 2000, the firm launched the website of the beauty brand Kiotis.
In 2003, the business acquired Stanhome, a brand of household products.
Groupe Rocher also launched La Gree des Landes, a spa hotel which is known for its eco-friendly style and its spa.
The business became a major stakeholder in Flormar in 2012 and in 2016, it acquired the Israelian brand Sabon which offers a range of artisanal soaps.
In 2018, the company acquired the beauty brand Arbonne which has a diverse range of natural products.
Currently 10 brands are managed by Groupe Rocher including Yves Rocher, Petit Bateau, Stanhome, Dr. Pierre Ricaud, Daniel Jouvance, Kiotis, ID Parfums, Flormar, Arbonne International and Sabon.
Moreover, Groupe Rocher has over 50 million customers and distributed a total of 700 million items in 2019.
Groupe Rocher now employs 17 696 people and achieved a turnover of €2.75 billion in 2019.
In addition, Groupe Rocher won the trophy "Development of Responsibility" for its mission "Reconnect People to Nature" by LSA.
It became the first company to stop animal testing on its products in 1989 and is trade fair certified.
Groupe Rocher runs its logistic centre which was founded in 2001 in La Gacilly.
The group launched the Yves Rocher Foundation in 2000 which has planted over 100 million trees so far.
