Founded in 1930, Ho Hio Hen is recognised as one of the largest wholesalers in Martinique. The company started as a wholesale and now operates more than 70 stores which include discount stores, hypermarkets and supermarkets. In addition to this, the company also owns several shopping centres. Ho Hio Hen offers over 20000 references in various categories.

Hio Hio Hen Group achieves an annual global turnover of €165 million and the company employs over 1300 people in its 3 major departments which are:

Ho Hio Hen entered the retail industry for food and drinks as a grocery in 1930 and in 1980, the company opened its first company in the trading of food, Multigros. In 1984, the firm opened its first commercial centre: La Bataliere. 

During the 1990s, the group opened several hypermarkets and supermarkets and partnered with Casino. The hypermarkets and supermarkets of the group now operate under the names Geant Casino and Casino Supermarche. 

During the 2000s, Ho Hio Hen Group also opened more hypermarkets and supermarkets and launched some new shopping centres, The company also acquired Ecomax, a chain of discount stores. 

The group now operates over 70 stores under different names and formats:

• 4 Hypermarkets under the name Geant Casino

• 3 Supermarkets under the name Casino Supermarche

• 64 Ecomax stores

• 1 Multigros store

The company is looking for suppliers of sweet grocery and savory grocery products. Hio Hen Group is interested in products for its private labels as well as partnering with other brands. 

In the savory grocery category, the company is sourcing for products such as spices, cooking oil, rice, flour and canned foods.

For the sweet grocery category, the firm is looking for products such as chocolate, coffee, sweets and biscuits.

Concerning the logistics, the company manages its own warehouse with 9000m2 dedicated to the stores of products under ambient temperature and a cold storage area of 4200m2. Ho Hio Hen Group owns several operational centres in Rouen, Stikalog, Armesetic, Armesfrilog and Cabassoulog. 

The company’s central purchasing unit is responsible for sourcing products for the different stores of the group. Furthermore, the group handles the shipping of around 6000 containers per year and works with over 1500 suppliers from over 50 countries.
