Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) is a fashion retailer established in Sweden. The company launched in 1947 and now has shops in 62 countries. The company was listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange in 1974 and offers online shopping in 33 countries.
H&M is known as the 2nd largest global clothing retailer and in 2018, the company achieved a turnover of €20.4 billion. H&M is worth around €10 billion. The firm employs 123283 persons. The company owns over 4500 stores across the world.
In 1976 H&M launched its first store in London and began to expand in Europe. The company launched its online shop in 1998. In 2000 the company launched its first U.S store.
In 2008, H&M ventured in home furnishings and launched H&M Home Stores throughout the globe.
The company opened its 3000th store in China in 2013.
H&M has launched several collections with famous designers like Karl Lagerfeld, Stella Mc Cartney and Viktor & Rolf. The company also launched collections in collaboration with celebrities like Madonna.
