Interex Supermarkets

Interex is one of the leading modern grocery retail chains in Kosovo, operated by Proex sh.p.k. and headquartered in Pristina. Established in 2011, the company has grown rapidly over little more than a decade to become the second-largest food and FMCG retailer in the country by store network, building a strong presence in the capital and across the wider Pristina region.

The chain operates around 33 Interex-branded stores, ranging from neighbourhood supermarkets to larger hypermarket formats, with its flagship hypermarket located on Rr. Fehmi Lladrovci in Pristina. It employs an estimated 500 to 1,000 people, making it one of Kosovo's more significant private-sector retail employers.

Interex offers a full grocery assortment covering fresh produce, bakery, meat and dairy, chilled and frozen foods, ambient grocery, drinks, and household and personal-care products, combining international brands with local Kosovar products and value-focused everyday ranges.

The company has invested in modernising and expanding its operations, securing development financing (including EBRD-backed support) to roll out new stores, renovate existing outlets and build a modern central logistics centre to strengthen its supply chain and distribution.
