Jsc Krekenavos Agrofirma

The history of Krekenavos agrofirma, AB continues for three decades. At the beginning the pig-breeding complex, which was established in the town of Krekenava, was the largest complex in Lithuania. After the building of meat processing workshop here in 1993, the complex had been also used for producing meat products. As the demand for the products of Krekenavos agrofirma grew considerably within a decade, the need for a new workshop arose, because the old one was no longer sufficient for satisfying the demand. Therefore, with the investment of more than 80 million litas, the modern and totally new meat processing factory was build near Kėdainiai in 2004. Under the roof of buildings, which cover the area of more than 20,000 sq m, the following sections are placed: pig and cattle slaughterhouse, which is the largest in Lithuania; the meat cutting workshop; the meat packaging workshop and the unit of production of the heat treated meat products.
