KOKOJOO is an innovative award-winning African-Swiss FOOD-TECH startup dedicated to bringing healthy, nutrient-rich, “free from” & great tasting cocoa-based food, snacks and drinks to the market.

We focus on utilizing the complete cocoa fruit as it offers much more than the beans, the core ingredient for chocolate. The cocoa bean shells for example are a source of nutrients and interesting compounds, such as fiber, cocoa volatile compounds, proteins, minerals, vitamins. They act against obesity and have an anti-inflammatory effect, as scientists have newly also found out.

Therefore, our KOKOJOO-products help solve problems relating to overweight, diabetes, heart diseases, bad diet, hectic lifestyle and contribute to discover the full joy of cocoa, as cocoa can do more than chocolate.

All these points result in exotic, flavorful and innovative cocoa-based products that taste delicious and distinguish themselves through quality and design to our motto “modern mix of a true classic”.

We primarily use so called “waste” of the traditional cocoa processing: cocoa bean shells and cocoa juice. In so doing, we contribute to reducing waste of resources, because the cocoa bean shells do not find any significant industrial utilization. And cocoa juice did not attract any significant attention until this year, especially in Europe.
