Kose is a japanese manufacturer and distributor of personal care products such as cosmetics, hair care and skincare. The company was founded in 1946 in Japan and its headquarters is located in Tokyo. 

Kose achieved a turnover of € 2.67 billion in 2018 and the company currently has 8117 employees. 

The business has categorised its products under 3 segments, namely the High-Prestige brands, Prestige brands and Cosmetaries.

High-Prestige brands consist of products of high quality which one will only find at exclusive luxury shops. Brands such as Tarte, Decorte and Albion are part of this segment.

Prestige brands are those brands which Kose distributes to mass retailers and mass drugstores and concern brands like Elsia and Formule.

Cosmetaries concern both cosmetics and toiletries which are sold at affordable prices. They are available at mass retailers, drugstores as well as convenience stores and retail outlets. Customers will find brands such as Visee, Fasio and Bioliss. 

Kose offers products from its own brands but has also acquired Jill Stuart in 2004 and the brand Tarte Cosmetics.

• One by Kose - A brand of face care products such as moisturisers

• Esprique - a range of makeup products

• Visee - makeup products such as lipstick and eyeshadow palettes
