After more than 12 years working in multinational companies, in the child category (HARIBO, Mattel), Amelie Coulombe got interested in the chocolate industry and the lack of innovation in offering for kids. Why do we have to feel guilty when we buy chocolate for our children? 80% of parents say they don’t trust the quality of the products currently on the shelf for their children, and they feel torn between the desire to make their children happy with yummy products, and their desire to eat better food.
It is time to shake it all and offer real healthy chocolate products!
After months of research, several days talking to kids and their parents, and a diploma as a chocolate-maker, Amelie launched the first Krokola bar, in February 2021.
Krokola first customer was Monoprix, nationwide (about 300 stores), and that was only the beginning. Krokola has been expanding its distribution in early 2022 and is now working with 2,000 stores! Monoprix, Intermarché, Auchan, Carrefour, Carrefour Market and Franprix are already offering Krokola to their shoppers, with the same mission to educate kids to great chocolate!
Our commitments:
- An organic and 100% natural recipe. Our bars are made in Provence (South of France) with a maximum of 5 organic ingredients. No soja lecithin, no additive, no unnecessary additional aroma!
- Yummy recipes to discover the real taste of great chocolate. Our milk chocolate bars have far more cocoa than the average of the market (41% cocoa vs less than 30%), and we also offer fruity and soft dark chocolate bars with Peruvian cocoa. All our recipes must be approved by kids!
- Funny and educative packaging: our mission is to educate kids to great chocolate but also to make them realize that we must take care of our environment, that’s why we created the inside of our packaging with games and information regarding the cocoa environment.
- A fully responsible brand with recycled cardboard printed with vegetable-based ink. Also, all our ingredients are recognized “AB” organic and Max Havelaar faitrade.
Our crunchy Milk bar got the recognition « Best organic product in retail en 2022 » by Biotopia.
