La Rinascente
La Rinascente is a chain of luxury department stores based in Italy. The Bortelli family acquired a chain of stores from the Bocconi brothers in 1917 and hired poet Gabriele D’Annunzio to come up with a name. Hence, the luxury store chain started to trade under the name La Rinascente.
La Rinascente has been owned by the Thai company Central Retail Group since 2011. The company now operates 9 shops in Italy. Furthermore, La Rinascente also runs an on-demand service on Whatsapp. La Rinascente will launch its online shop in June 2020.
La Rinascente has invested in the renovation of its stores and has observed that all its renovated shops’ sales have increased by up to 70%.
La Rinascente achieved a turnover of € 700 million in 2018, indicating a rise of 21% compared to the previous year. It must be noted that the on-demand service on Whatsapp generates a revenue of € 5 million.
