Lyko was founded by Frans Lyko in 1952 in Sweden. The firm offers an extensive range of cosmetics and hair care products. Lyko started as a hair care salon and now operates 40 stores in Sweden as well as an online shop. Lyko provides more than 46000 references.
Lyko has acquired various companies over time such as Hair Care Bar, Klippotetek, Affection Cosmetics and You.
The business also launched a store concept, K15 in 2014 and Lyko Concept in 2016. A year later, Lyko introduced Lyko Social, a digital platform for hairdressers and customers.
The firm expanded its operations in 2018 by entering the Finnish market and a year later, the Dannish market.
Lyko achieved a turnover of € 107 million in 2019, indicating a rise of 26% in its revenue compared to 2018.
Lyko won the E-Commerce 2018 of the Year from the Retail Awards in 2018.
The business offers products in the personal care category that includes makeup, skincare, hair care, face care, etc. A large portion of these products are organic and vegan.
Lyko offers an array of products from Swedish brands as well as international brands such as K-Beauty, The Ordinary, Indya Beauty, Kevin Murphy, Nuxe, Max Factor, etc.
Furthermore, Lyko also created its private label, Lyko, featuring products such as makeup, hair care, nail care, etc.
Lyko adheres to EU legislations for cosmetics and is also against animal testing. The company has also introduced a Supplier Code of Conduct which its suppliers must conform to. Suppliers' products must be fairtrade certified.
Concerning its logistics, Lyko manages its own warehouses.
Lyko has been striving to be a sustainable company. Employees have a code of ethics to abide to. Furthermore, the company has taken measures to use LED lighting in all its facilities.
Lyko also sponsors the Dala Jarna IK football team.
