Our Giant corn is known as “CHOCLO CUZCO” in Peru and all across South America. This has been grown in the region know as the “sacred valley of the Incas” for hundreds of years.
The Sacred Valley of the Incas or the Urubamba Valley is a valley in the Andes of Peru, close to the Inca capital of Cusco and below the world famous ruins of Machu Picchu.
The valley was formed by the Urubamba River, also known as the “Sacred River” The valley was appreciated by the Incas due to its special geographical and climatic qualities. In the Moray terraces experimental growing environments were carefully cut into the high mountain valleys to form micro-climates at different elevations to experiment naturally with crop growing.
It was in these terraces that our Giant Cusco Corn was born and that we know today which makes our corn so special….Legend has it that the corn was grown only for the Inca King and his family, it is now available for us all to enjoy thanks to Mr Edo Van Hasselt.
Native Peruvian Edo Van Hasselt has been creating our giant corn snack for many years. He has developed his own secret 15 step process making ours a genuine unique snack. Maizings! are being sold in North America, Japan and all across South America, we are very fortunate to be launching them here in the UK….at last!
