Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) mission is to promote Malaysia’s export market. The firm has enabled many local companies to expand in global markets. 

Countrywide, MATRADE manages 5 local branches in Penang, Terengganu, Johor, Sabah, and Sarawak.

MATRADE  develops, promotes, facilitates and assists in service areas related to trade as well as acts as an agent of the government on matters affecting trade. Additionally, the company organises training programs, to improve the international marketing skills of its clientele, as well as business matching events between foreign importers and Malaysian exporters.

Furthermore, MATRADE is actively involved in assisting international businesses to source for suppliers of Malaysian products and services, and is present worldwide in more than 40 locations. The firm also possesses a database of over 25 000 local companies.

MATRADE was awarded the 3rd position for World Trade Promotion Organisation (WTPO) Awards 2020 in the “Best Use of Information Technology” category for MyExport online service.

MATRADE is MS ISO 9001:2015 certified since 2019.

Since 2007, the company has owned a convention centre named MATRADE Exhibition & Convention Centre (MECC) of more than 106 000 sqm equipped with a 24-storey architectural icon. It is one of the best venues for meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions with emphasis on Trade-Centric events.

MATRADE also operates MITEC, the largest pillar-less exhibition hall in Malaysia of 12 960 sqm. MITEC consists of 11 spacious exhibition halls as large as eight football fields combined.
