Pastificio Mennucci was founded at the end of last century in the surrounding countryside, an area of great food traditions.
Giovan Battista Mennucci, had a modest artisan food business in the village of Ponte a Moriano, succeeded in a short time to build a convenience store food with one part used for bread's sales and another for pastas.
His untimely death left his son Maurice at the head of small business and craft production became, even before 1940, industrial levels.
During the second World War the pasta factory was bombed and destroyed. The business was still recovering, in the years that followed, the pasta Mennucci managed to establish the quality, not only on the Italian market but also internationally.
The success of the activity was such as to make existing structures, although extended and modernized, unable to meet the needs of production. In 1966 it was completed, the industrial area of Ponte a Moriano, the construction of a new plant, designed with the help of advanced technology. Alongside this, some years later, built a new factory was used almost exclusively to the production of lasagna and other pasta special.
In 1986 the company became a joint stock company wholly owned by the family.
Currently the pulp production is about 18,000 tons a year.
