Metro Richelieu
Metro is a chain of grocery stores which was launched in Canada by Rolland Jeanneau in 1947. The company used to operate under the name Magasins Lasalle Stores and over time many independent retailers joined the group. Metro merged with the Marché Richelieu grocery chain in 1975 to become Groupe Metro-Richelieu.
Moreover, Metro acquired several chains including A&P Canada in 2005 and in 2009, Dominion, A&P, Loeb, the Barn, and Ultra Food & Drug banners were rebranded to Metro.
In 2017, Metro acquired Miss Fresh, a Canadian meal kit service. The firm acquired the Quebec drug chain Jean Coutu Group in 2018.
