Phoenix Group is one of the biggest pharmaceutical wholesalers and retailers in Europe. It was founded in 1994 by Adolf Merckle.
Having operations in 27 countries, Phoenix Group contributes immensely to the pharmaceutical sector.

Phoenix Group has also started to offer over 100 services in the pharmaceutical sector in each country it operates. Additionally, the retail sector of Phoenix Group is composed of 4 pharmacy chains which are named as follows:
- BENU: BENU represents about 1400 pharmacies in 10 European countries including Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Switzerland and many more.
- Apotek 1: Apotek 1 is a pharmacy chain in Norway having over 350 branches across the country. The pharmacy is not only available through its modern retail stores but also operates an online store.
- Rowlands Pharmacy: The Rowlands Pharmacy is present principally in the United Kingdom and is the second largest among the 4 pharmacy brands. The Rowlands pharmacy now counts over 500 pharmacies in the United Kingdom, Scotland and Wales.
- Help Net: Help Net is currently the third largest pharmacy chain in Romania. The firm has businesses in over 400 locations throughout the country.In 2020, Help Net expanded with more than 47 new pharmacies and operates an online store as well.
Pharma Services have been initiated due to the increasing demands placed by the European health care systems. Since then, Phoenix Group has developed a full service package called Phoenix All-in-One. This resulted in growth, increased revenue, reduced costs and optimised processes whereby both parties benefited from these advantages.
