Pieter Pot
Founded by Jouri Schoemaker and Martijn Bijmolt in 2019, Pieter Pot is an online packaging-free retailer based in the Netherlands. The firm has recently expanded to Belgium and is planning on launching its services in Germany in 2022.
The company’s concept includes buying products in bulk and then packages it into reusable glass jars. After paying a 2 euro deposit per jar, customers receive their groceries by Post NL Food, who simultaneously takes the empty jars from previous orders back to Pieter Pot.
Pieter Pot’s clientele consists of more than 70 000 customers across the Netherlands, 10 000 in Belgium and 30 000 on its waiting list. The online retailer handles almost 20 000 orders monthly.
Over 300 references are available at Pieter Pot.
A total of €9 million has been raised for the development of lighter and sustainable jars as well as the international expansion of Pieter Pot in the upcoming year.
Products in the following categories are offered:
- Savory Grocery: sauces, oil, pasta, etc
- Sweet Grocery: biscuits, coffee, tea, etc
- Personal Care: toothpaste tablets, bamboo brushes, shampoo bar, etc
- Household: dish soap, toilet cleaner, garbage bag, etc
