On April 1, 2013, Procordia and Abba Seafood became one company, a result of Orkla’s decision to strengthen the Orkla Group’s competitiveness in the Swedish market. After Orkla's acquisition of Rieber & Son, it was decided that Frödinge – with its famous cheesecake – would also be part of the new food company. On July 1, 2013, the merge was legally finalized. The purpose of forming one joint food company in Sweden is to create a stable platform for future growth and development of the three companies' brands. - We have just experienced two of the largest mergers in the history of Swedish food industry, and we are about to form one of the country's leading food companies with many of Sweden's most popular brands. With Frödinge as a part of the new company, we will have than 1 400 employees and a turnover of about 4,8 billion, says Patrik Andersson, CEO at Procordia. The company's portfolio now includes many popular brands, such as Abba, Abba Middagsklart, Kalles, Frödinge, Mrs. Cheng's, Felix, BOB, Ekströms, Risifrutti, Grandiosa, Önos, Kung Gustaf, FUN Light, Grebbestads, Den Gamle Fabrik, Ejderns, Svennes, Hållö, Lucullus, Limfjord, Liva Energi and Paulúns. The new food company’s headquarter is situated in Eslöv and produce and store products in nine different places in Sweden: Eslöv, Tollarp, Fågelmara, Frödinge, Kungshamn, Uddevalla (warehouse), Kumla, Örebro and Vansbro. Consumers will continue to find their favourites from Frödinge in stores in the same way as before. The Frödinge product assortment and article numbers will remain the same for the time being and customers may place orders as usual. Frödinge Frödinge was introduced in 1929 as a butter and cheese dairy. Today, Frödinge make cheesecakes, cream cakes, chocolate cakes and other cakes and dessert pies. The brand portfolio also includes Mrs. Cheng's, whose product range consists of soy, noodles, stir-fry vegetables, sauces and Thai stews. The production facilities are situated in the small village of Frödinge in Sweden.
