Rema 1000 has 868 supermarkets offering over 2500 references.
The company is owned by Reitangruppen and is a leading grocery chain. It is also the only business in Norway’s grocery sector to operate a pure franchising model. Rema 1000 is also present in Denmark.

In order to increase productivity in its business, the firm entered into partnership with Symphony Gold which is a provider of software and services for retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers. Furthermore, in collaboration with Sopra Steria, it uses the Now Platform to facilitate administrative tasks.

- Middag under 100 Lappen: offers ready-made dishes as well as vegetables, accessories and sauces.
A line of vegan and organic products is also offered. These include brands such as Plantego's, Naturli, The Vegan Bear, etc. Rema 1000 also launched Norway's first series of frozen vegan ready meals in collaboration with the brand Grönt .
Additionally, all products available at REMA 1000 are free of microplastic and of palm oil.
The suppliers of Rema 1000 are obliged to follow several regulations that are demanded by the company. These include a number of guidelines such as pertaining to the use of additives and genetically modified products, STAND, HSE and IK-mat, return and recycling of packaging waste, etc.
Pertaining to logistics, the company operates a railway facility to conduct its deliveries. The retailer tries its best to reduce CO2 emissions and therefore the use of trains has augmented. The business has 6 distribution centres and 12 regional offices.
