Origin Green Gold Members Ireland: Being an Origin Green Gold Member means that a company has been recognised by Bord Bia for achieving a particularly high standard of sustainability performance in Ireland's food and drink industry. Gold membership recognises companies that demonstrate strong results against their sustainability targets, rather than simply signing up to the programme. What does a Gold Member have to achieve? Companies are assessed on areas such as: - Environmental impact — reducing carbon emissions and energy consumption. - Water efficiency — improving how water is used in production. - Waste and packaging — reducing waste and improving packaging sustainability. - Responsible sourcing — improving the sustainability of raw materials and suppliers. - Social sustainability — supporting employees and local communities. Gold status is based on performance against targets and independent assessment. It is awarded annually, so companies must continue to demonstrate strong results. What does it mean for Robert A. Merry & Co.? Robert A. Merry & Co. holds Origin Green Gold membership. This means the company has achieved the programme's higher sustainability performance threshold.
