Sally Beauty Holding

Founded in 1964 in the US, Sally Beauty Holding is recognised as one of the largest distributors of beauty products in the country. The company was acquired in 1969 by Alberto-Culver. It is headquartered in Denton, Texas.

The firm manages 5000 stores across the world. 

Sally Beauty Holding ventured into the international market, mainly through the acquisition of different beauty store chains. Sally Beauty Holding acquired 30 Ogee stores in 1987, marking its entry in the UK market.

By taking over other companies, Sally Beauty Holding entered Germany, Mexico, Canada and also expanded its presence in the US.

In 2008, Sally Beauty Holding acquired Pro-Duo, a Belgian company with stores in Belgium, France and Spain.

By 2011, Sally Beauty Holding was already present in Chile and during that year, acquired the Kappersservice Floral B.V. and two related companies, Hair Zone B.V. and Exphair B.V. (the "Floral Group") in the Netherlands. 

In 2014, Sally Beauty Holding started to operate in Peru and in 2016, in Colombia.

Sally Beauty Holding started to operate under 2 subsidiaries which are as follows:

• Sally Beauty: operates more than 3700 stores in 12 countries and is the world's largest distributor and retailer of professional beauty products. Sally Beauty offers 8000 references in the personal care category.

• Beauty Systems Group: this company sells only to professionals and offers 10 500 references in the personal care category. Beauty Systems Group operates over 1300 CosmoProf and Armstrong McCall stores, as well as 820 Direct Sales Consultants in North America.

Sally Beauty Holding’s customers consist of retail clients and salon professionals.

Sally Beauty Holding achieved a turnover of €3.90 billion in 2018. The company  currently employs 27 000 people.
