Tartu Fruit and Vegetable Factory, which started operating in 1946, eventually developed into one of the largest food-canning enterprises in Estonia – the Tartu Canning Factory, which in turn, became the predecessor of the current firm, AS Salvest.
Our mission is to make the lives of consumers easier and offer enjoyably flavourful experience. The company’s aim is to maintain a high consumption culture, excellent quality of its products and the confidence of consumers. Our portfolio package encompasses convenient handling, consistently high quality, enticingly balanced flavours and a long self life for our products.
The company follows the ISO 9001:2008 quality management system, for which the respective international certificate was awarded in October 2002. The self-control system applied in AS Salvest comes under the regular supervision of the Veterinary and Food Board. These documents are based on the HACCP principles and are developed according to the Estonian legislation that is in compliance with the regulations of the European Union. This system, in combination with ISO 9001:2008 ensures the high quality of all processes and products as well as a good surveillance of safety.
In 2014 Salvest adopted the ISO 22000:2005 standard which sets out the requirements for food safety along the entire length of the processing chain to the end consumer. Since 2016, AS Salvest has followed internationally recognized IFS Food Standard which focus is on food safety and the quality of processes and products.
