Established by Sam Walton in 1983, Sam’s Club is an American chain of membership-only retail warehouse clubs. Its headquarters is based in Bentonville, Arkansas, United States. The company is a subsidiary of the American multinational retail corporation, Walmart Inc.
Presently, the business operates 600 locations across the United States in 44 states, 166 locations in Mexico, 36 locations in China and an e-commerce platform as well.
In the financial year ending January, 2022, Sam’s Club achieved a turnover of €72 billion. It is noteworthy that its sales increased by 10.4% as compared to the previous year. Pertaining to its logistics solutions, Sam’s Club operates its own distribution centres and partners with third party logistics providers to ensure its deliveries.

In 2021, Sam’s Club introduced a new digital buying and shipping tool called Scan & Ship which allows members to scan products on warehouse aisles using the Sam’s Club App. As a result, the goods are shipped directly at their doorstep.
Additionally, in 2022, the firm announced that it will be offering new members a $45 credit to use on their first Sam’s Club purchase when they sign up for an annual fee of $45. Concerning sustainability, Sam’s Club protects the environment by increasing its recycling services and sourcing its seafood from farms and fisheries which are certified by the Global Sustainable Seafood Initiative.
