Selex

Established in 1964, Selex is a retail chain headquartered in Trezzano, Italy.

The company has a total of 3,339 outlets, 269 familia stores, over 400 A&O stores, 1,159 supermarkets, 86 cash and carry outlets, 23 pet shops across the country and many more.

The Group has an online platform known as CosiComodo which represents 9 brands.

In the financial year 2021, Selex achieved a turnover of €17.10 billion and currently employs over 41,000 people. 

When it comes to distribution centres, the company partnered with ESD Italia which belongs to the EMD (European Marketing Distribution) Centre, one of Europe’s largest independent retailer alliances with a thirty-year pedigree.

The assortment of the Selex Group's Distributor Brands consists of 7,750 products such as: 

• Harmony and Wellness: Beauty and personal care products. 
• Storie di Gastronomia(premium line): cheese, cured meats, ham, etc. 
• Vale: croissant, tiramisu, meat, etc.  

 It offers a variety of products under different categories such as: 

• Sweet grocery: chocolate, waffles, cookies, etc.  
• Savory grocery: rice, pasta, bread, etc.
• Fresh and chilled: vegetables, fruits, salmon, etc.
• Frozen: ice cream, pizza, meat, etc.
• Dairy: yogurt, milk, cheese, etc.
• Drinks: fizzy drinks, water, juice, etc. 
• Household: kitchen napkins, toilet paper, detergents, etc.
• Personal care: shampoo, conditioner, face masks, etc.     
• Wine and spirits: beer, wine, liqueur, etc. 

Selex developed its private labels which are known as (non-exhaustive list): 

• Amico Mio Selex: A line of pet food products: wet dog food, cat food, dry dog food, etc.
• Natura Chiama Selex: A brand dedicated to organic products:semolina pasta, milk, honey, etc.
• Vivi Bene Selex Senza Glutine: A line of gluten-free products: pizza, ice cream, sliced bread, etc. 

In 2020, Selex reported a 10% growth, year-on-year, in private-label sales with total sales of €1.4 billion.

The business has invested €460 million to open 95 new points of sale in 2022.
