Sezamo

Sezamo is a Romanian online-only supermarket, headquartered in Voluntari in the Bucharest metropolitan area, and operated by the Czech e-grocery group Rohlik. Launched in 2022, it brought a full-range "online hypermarket" model to Romania, promising same-day and next-morning delivery of fresh and everyday products ordered through its website and mobile app.

Rather than running physical stores, Sezamo fulfils orders from a large automated distribution centre serving Bucharest and its surrounding area, combining a wide grocery assortment with a technology-led logistics operation and a focus on freshness, delivery speed and convenience.

The platform offers tens of thousands of products across fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and fish, dairy, bakery, chilled and frozen foods, ambient grocery, drinks, and household and personal-care goods, alongside ready meals and premium and local specialities. It combines leading Romanian and international brands with its own private-label range.

Backed by Rohlik Group — one of Europe's leading online grocery businesses, active in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, Austria and Romania — Sezamo benefits from shared technology, sourcing and operational expertise across the group's markets.

In 2024 Sezamo reported turnover of roughly €16 million as it continued to scale its Romanian operation. With its fast-growing customer base, broad online assortment and modern fulfilment capability, Sezamo is an attractive partner for food, beverage and household manufacturers seeking access to Romania's growing e-grocery channel.
