Sharjah Co-operative Society
Sharjah Co-operative Society (SCS), established in March 1977 by ministerial decree, is the first cooperative society in the United Arab Emirates, founded under the directives of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qassimi, ruler of Sharjah, to serve and improve the social and economic standards of the local community.
Sharjah Co-op operates a network of more than 60 retail outlets across Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, including large shopping centers with retail stores, restaurants, cafés, healthcare centers, and a unique "shop on wheels" initiative called MobiCoop designed to reach customers in remote locations.
The Society is a major employer in the UAE, providing around 2,000 jobs, with women comprising 25% of the workforce. Its modern branches focus on quality, trust, and competitive pricing, adhering to International Organization of Standards (ISO) policies, making it a trusted retail brand in the region.
SCS offers multiple formats of physical retail outlets including supermarkets, hypermarkets, distribution centers, and warehouses.
